Job Overview – Cashier (Sports Retail)The Cashier – Sports Retail role is a customer-facing position that plays a crucial part in delivering a smooth and positive shopping experience. As one of the first and last points of contact for customers, cashiers are responsible for accurate transactions, professional service, and maintaining GMG’s brand standards.
This role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a busy retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be responsible for the following duties:
- Updating product pricing and ensuring system accuracy
- Counting and verifying cash float at the start and end of shifts
- Handling cash, cheques, and card transactions with proper security checks
- Removing security tags from purchased items
- Assisting customers with pricing, promotions, and gift vouchers
- Safeguarding the assigned till, cash, and transaction records
- Completing daily cash close-out and end-of-day procedures
- Promoting ongoing offers and enhancing overall customer satisfaction
